Our Team
ARIA is led by a distributed team of researchers spanning computer science, cognitive science, psychology, neuroscience, philosophy, and law. We partner with universities and research organizations across the country to study how people and AI systems can work together — and to train the next generation of researchers working at that intersection.
ARIA leadership spans faculty from computer science, cognitive science, psychology, and neuroscience across ten partner institutions, coordinated by the core team at Brown University. Together they set the research agenda, shape the education mission, and steward the Institute's collaborations with practitioners, policymakers, and the public.

ARIA brings together researchers from ten institutions across the United States. Each partner contributes distinct expertise — from robotics and natural language processing to psychology, law, and participatory design — to advance a shared vision of human-centered AI.
Beyond the core leadership team, ARIA collaborates with dozens of researchers, educators, and practitioners who contribute to our pilot studies, workshops, and public engagement work. Together they represent the breadth of disciplines needed to study how people and AI systems interact.
